HOLY COW-an! It's next week!!
It's been ages since our last update and we can't believe that the wedding is next week!! Our last post said that we were pretty much sorted but it was a lie! We had loads left to do and didn't realise how much until we sat down and talked through what was left!
The only thing we thought we had left to do was sort out the cake and thanks to Marie-Anne's cousin Sarah we will have a lovely lemon buttercream sponge. Sarah makes cakes for special occasions and we were really impressed by her work and are so pleased that she is making our cake. It will be an elegant but simple one tier cake decorated with a message to the bride and groom and finished with some nice cake toppers we bought online and a tartan ribbon in Daniel's family colours. The left over ribbon has been used to finish off Daniel's button-hole and he's much happier to have manly tartan in the Cowan clan pattern than the glittery ribbon we had before!
We have spent many hours over the past few weeks sorting out all the little things we never really thought about like table decorations and place cards. We spent a whole day making our wedding favours which we are sure you are all going to love. We think they are really quaint and very "us"; they were painstakingly put together piece by piece in a home production line run with military efficiency so you will like them ;)
We also put a lot of time and effort into making our playlist which will mostly be background music but nonetheless it was a slog putting it together.
Marie-Anne has had her final dress fitting and Daniel has been remeasured for his suit which was handy as he's lost even more weight and has gone down another trouser size!
We're really looking forward to seeing you all next week and sharing our special day with you.
