Notice of marriage

We registered our notice of intent to marry today and if no objections are raised before 20th April, then we are a free to go ahead and marry on 14th September. (Don't go getting any ideas any of you!)

It was a rather nerve-wracking affair that made us both feel very shifty! We were interviewed by the registrar separately and had to answer questions about each other that we'll be asked again on the day to identify ourselves. It was all quite formal and the registrar didn't seem too impressed by Daniel's attempts to break the ice or make a few funnies. The questions weren't at all difficult but our nerves weren't helped by the rooms and the halls being covered in anti-sham marriage posters!

We also had the chance to view the Mayoral room which is where the ceremony will be taking place. It looked quite magnificent and the photographs really don't do it justice. We have also been provided with a choice of wording to use during the ceremony including vows to say when exchanging rings on the day. Everything is starting to feel very real now!
